INSTINCTIVE TRIAD (Also referred to as the Gut or Body Center)
Type 8
Type 9
Type 1

The central theme of this Triad is anger. (All types experience anger, but this is the dominant theme of this particular triad). Eights feel their anger deeply and express it openly. Nines try to ignore their anger and bury it deep below the surface. Feelings of anger which eventually surface are often handled in a passive-aggressive manner. Ones judge their anger as well as themselves and others. Their anger surfaces in frequent resentments. Each of these styles could benefit from self-observation in the area of anger.

FEELING TRIAD (Also referred to as the Heart Center)
Type 2
Type 3
Type 4

Individuals in this triad are particularly image conscious. (All types deal with image issues, but this is the dominant theme of this triad). Twos really want to be liked and needed. They seek consistent affirmation from others to enhance their identity. Threes want to be respected and admired for their accomplishments and will work diligently to project the image of success. Fours identify with an image of being defective, unique, different or special. Their perception of themselves and the image they portray to others is often romantically tragic.

THINKING TRIAD (Also referred to as the Head Center)
Type 5
Type 6
Type 7

The central theme of this Triad is fear. (All types experience fear, but this is the dominant theme of this triad). Fives respond to fear by retreating and withdrawing. Sixes respond to fear by anticipating the worst and planning in advance. Sevens have an avoidance reaction to fear. While they do not appear to be fearful, they avoid commitment and throw themselves into various activities and projects to deflect internal fears.
